The home farming, or hobby farming movement is underway! Not that there has not always been a remnant of our society which has always done this, but it is gaining in popularity, and no matter how you look at, it can’t be a bad thing.

We have lost touch with our food. Many school age children have no idea that the chicken on their plate was once a large bird pecking around the farm, or that the catchup that they dip it in was once a tomato. Bringing this aspect of life back seems to add a sense of reality to the human experience which can be gained in no other way.

Furthermore, the nutritional and financial benefits can be huge, and the sense of self sufficiency and accomplishment gained through the experience of raising ones own meals can do great things for the family.
